We have had a great time working on ‘De Dirigent / The Conductor’ with Cinemeta for several months. It was a major international production and there was nothing Cinemeta couldn’t handle for both image and sound post production. On the image side, we got beautiful color grading and visual effects with snow, rain and skylines of Amsterdam, New York and Berlin, built entirely in 3D, really beautiful. Sound was also finished at Cinemeta, which was especially challenging for this film because it included classical concerts. In some scenes the sound of The Conductor consisted of more than 100 channels; dialogue, foley, atmospheres, ADR, sync sound/set noises and  many multi track recordings of orchestras. The big advantage for us as filmmakers is that everything we need is in one place. Due to Cinemeta’s great flexibility, we were able to switch rooms quite easily and quickly, and assess multiple processes simultaneously, for both mage and sound. It may sound like I’m advertising for Cinemeta, but maybe that is just what it is, because we worked together in an incredibly professional and pleasant manner. From start to finish, the entire post production process was taken care of. That means sound and image, from ingesting raw materials to delivering the DCP. And besides that, people tend to think of post production as CGI, conform and the extensive sound trajectory, but it also involves graphic design, credit scrolls, adding subtitles in multiple languages ​​and generating a long list of deliveries. We will definitely work with Cinemeta again at the next opportunity. It was a true joy.
